Sunitinib inhibited VEGF-induced proliferation of LECs. LECs were incubated in serum-free conditions in the absence or presence of 500 ng/ml of VEGF-C (left) or VEGF-D (right), and DMSO or 10 to 300 nM sunitinib. The cellular proliferation was quantified by MTS assay after 7 days of treatment. Columns indicate the values in six replicates normalized to the nontreated controls; bars, SD. *P < 0.05 compared with control.
