Knockdown of fucosyltransferase 8 (FUT8) suppresses the invasion ability of two highly metastatic breast carcinoma cell lines. Knockdown of FUT8 expression with recombinant lentivirus encoding two different human FUT8-targeting shRNAs and murine FUT8-targeting short hairpin RNAs (shRNAs) in MDA-MB-231 (a-c) and 4T1 cells (d-f). Knockdown efficiency was confirmed by western blot analysis. Anti-α-tubulin and anti- glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) antibodies were internal controls. Cell migratory (b, e) and invasive ability (c, f) of control and FUT8-knockdown MDA-MB-231 and 4T1 cells by Transwell assay with and without Matrigel coating. Data are mean ± SD. **P < 0.01.
