  1. Cells were treated with different concentrations of α-TEA, doxorubicin (DOXO), and cisplatin (CDDP) for 24 hours. Apoptosis was determined by annexin V-FITC/PI staining/fluorescence-activated cell sorter analysis as described in Material and methods. The concentration that achieved 50% apoptosis (half-maximal effective concentration) was determined using commercially available software (Calcusyn; Biosoft, Manchester, UK).
